Our Story:
In Conversation with Akyaaba Addai-Sebo

Tues 3 Oct / 3:30pm

Black Heritage Walks Network CIC (BHWN) presents an exclusive event – ‘Our Story, in Conversation With Akyaaba Addai-Sebo’. Akyaaba is responsible for establishing the concept of a months’ celebration of Black culture and history – what we recognise today in Britain as Black History Month (BHM).

Akyaaba will join us on 3rd Oct 2023, for an exclusive tour and event where we reflect on the beginnings of Black History Month in Britain, their memories of, and contributions to Black history. The event will also feature the book, ‘Our Story: A Handbook of African History & Contemporary Issues’ written by Akyaaba Addai Sebo & Ansell Wong.

Black Heritage Walks Network is delivering this event in partnership with Opal22, Thomas Estley Community College, Leicester Museum and Art Gallery, Black History Arts & More (BHAM), Recognize Black Heritage & Culture, Living Well Church, Simmer Down Arts & Birmingham City University.
